Paleo Future has an interesting collection of postcards from the dawn of the twentieth century, depicting what people then imagined life would be like in the year 2000. The cards were produced by a leading German chocolate manufacturer. Here are some:

The main reason why I post this is that it beautifully illustrates our near total incapacity of imagining, let alone predicting, what the future will be like.
